Here’s a picture of me on the Police Big Wheels. Circa 1981 or so. Please note the Burger King hat, flipflops, and the bandaid on my knee. Somethings have changed: You will never see me set foot in a Burger King again so long as I live. Other things haven’t changed: I still live my life in flipflops and I’m still a clutz and often sport scrapes or bruises or bandaids to this day.

Why I’m Proud Of Myself
- I did my whole practice this morning, from surya namaskara a to ardha matsyendrasana to dropbacks to finishing. Probably for the first time since Portland. I’ve been abbreviating for the past month or two, but no longer. Back to it!
- I focused fully on Mula Bandha for the entirety of practice, and it felt fantastic. There’s this lightness as well as a grounding… difficult to explain.
- Inspired by Laksmi’s futon-assisted SuptaVajrasana, I got all MacGyver on my closet, and constructed a shelf just to hold my knees down in my own closet-assisted SuptaVajrasana.
- I made a new playlist for yoga which seems to be much more inspiring than the last one. I never thought I’d be one to practice with music, but on those mornings when I need a little extra push (more often than not, these days…), a few tunes do just the trick.
