This afternoon I was washing the dishes from my lunch when my finger (the wedding one) started aching and stinging like crazy. “Strange,” I thought as I turned off the water and rubbed it so that the ache would go away. But it didn’t.
I looked out the window to the street and I saw the Cat sitting on the roadside staring up at the house.
Just like Harry Potter’s scar, eh? Kinda spooky.
At least now I know that the darn thing survived that night. One less thing to worry about.
The bites seemed to have healed and the swelling has gone down quite a bit. But the finger still hurts like crazy and it’s noticeably crooked. I must have sprained it or something. This week I guess I’ll call my ER doctor-friend and have him take a look at it.
I boxed the leftovers from my lunch up in the Bento and thought about bringing it to the winery tomorrow when I realized… I don’t work there anymore. A moment of sadness and uncertainty came over me but then I remembered that I have a lunch date with a friend here in Paso Robles tomorrow. And then I also remembered that I don’t have to set my alarm for practice either, because I can just practice whenever I wake up. That made me happy. So I skipped out to Target and bought a bunch of “new job stuff” like notebooks, envelopes, pens, and accordian files… which made me feel like I was back to school shopping.
