So I was pondering the current state of my back, which could be described as INCREDIBLY SORE, and I was wondering why. No really. Why?
If backbends are considered “front-body stretches,” why isn’t my front-body sore? When I stretch my hamstrings, my hamstrings are sore the next day. Same as when I stretch my shoulders. Why is the front-body so different?
Am I compressing things that shouldn’t be compressed? And by “things” I mean all that anatomical stuff that the back is made up of. You know, muscles, joints, vertebrae, discs, etc.
Or am I contracting my back muscles in order to bend the back and open the front?
It all feels muscular to me, so that’s a good sign. Feels like maybe my lats and rhomboids mostly.
Just pondering, don’t mind me.
