Out of nowhere, some digable planets beats popped into my head. I’m gonna have to find that album again. Nostalgia strikes again.
We spent the ENTIRE day in IKEA yesterday, shopping for the house. Spent about $8,000 on lighting and cabinetry. Holy moly. The house itself is moving along swiftly. They textured the drywall this week, layed some more of the metal roof, laid some decking for the downstairs deck, and I’m sure there’s other little things too, but that’s the stuff that I know about. This week, we choose a pretty white-ish color for the interior and then they paint.
The front door we wanted won’t be ready until June, so we have to compromise and get a plain front door. Rats. Silver lining: we’ll save a few bucks.
And JOY OF JOYS, it looks like we’ll be installing custom concrete countertops (gasp) so our house will be the house of steel and concrete, since Tay welds the majority of our furniture from steel. Concrete countertops are much more desirable than the originally intended Laminate ones (ick)
I’m playing lazy this afternoon after an active morning of Ashtanga Santa Barbara and then riding my bike to the yoga centre and back to teach my ashtanga class… I’m tired now. It should rain soon.
Did you know that they don’t teach Baddha Konasana C anymore in Mysore? I didn’t. At least, not until today. Everything changes.
This morning, after a few dropbacks, I was instructed to come up into a loooong held handstand (12 breaths), followed by scorpion (5 breaths), then slooooowly flip over into a backbend and stand up. WHEEEE!!!
I’m surprised to say that although I haven’t attempted a handstand in months, I was able to come up with both legs and stay up for the full 12 unassisted. The scorpion was another matter entirely, but I’ll get to work on it on my own this week and next before I get to try it again with my new, very tall instructor.
Hm. I seem to be all over the place, here. Can you tell I haven’t eaten in a while? I think I had a croissant around 10. Since then? Nothing. Time to go nibble (or… ahem… gorge).
