Monday night into the wee hours of Tuesday morning, a battle ensued over our “tropical weight” down comforter. You see, I’m a heavy-weight sleeper. I do my best sleeping when there’s at least 10 pounds of covers on top of me. The husband is exactly the opposite. So Monday night I continuously stole the covers. He would steal them back, then I’d try again. I’ve got the technique nailed down…. the “sit-up and roll.” I sit up in bed, grab the cover, and roll over, taking the cover with me. It’s a genius move that works wonders. Tay uses the “tuck in” technique, wherein he tucks the cover underneath him on both sides of him. My technique totally trumps his.
All this work to stay warm makes getting out of bed for a hot shower a little more desirable, even at 5 a.m.
But last night, we added our duvet cover and two other blankets, making my dream bed a reality (although Tay was less than thrilled). And this morning? There was no way I was sacrificing this for a shower, no sir.
Practice #10 has so far eluded me. But I’ll fit a little something in this afternoon.
I’m supposed to meet A.S. at the Yoga Centre tomorrow for practice (the one who hasn’t shown up one time so far even though it was her idea to meet there). I’m going to leave a borderline unfriendly message on her voicemail today: “Please let me know if you’re not 100% sure you can make it tomorrow, because I’m not too keen on trekking across town to practice all alone.” Grr. My husband says I should just write her off, but I do like the idea of having a public place where others could come and practice as well… Time will tell, I suppose.
Protein/Hydration Update: Yesterday I ate a little chicken sausage, a handful of almonds, about three ounces of Pecorino Romano, and a ton of peanut butter on my english muffin. And I drank about 7 glasses of water. Do I feel any different today? No. But I didn’t get to see how it effected my practice this morning, so we’ll see what happens tomorrow morning. So far today I’ve had one egg and a granola bar. And coffee.
