So far nothing has gone to plan today. * sigh *
At 6 a.m. (just when asana practice was about to commence) as Taylor left to go work on the new house, Kula decided to go for an Oscar, playing the role of a dramatically depressed sick dog, too ill to move except for the occasional tremble. She would not look up when her name was called. Even when the word “walk” was mentioned, she lay still, sulkily staring at some invisible spot on the floor in front of her. She made no noises except for the gurgling of an upset tummy. She was so convincing that her owner went into a tizzy, and began calling every vet’s office to find an emergency number, fretting over whether this constituted an emergency, wondering if she could just wait an hour and take her in when they opened. As time passed, she tired of playing sick and dropped her bunny at my feet, furiously wagging her tail and smiling, hopping from side to side. Well, there goes my practice time.
What a drama queen.
So far, the day has been complete chaos. Total madness. But one has to admit that sometimes a little chaos is a welcome respite from the mundane. The chaos is expected to continue throughout the weekend, with a 30% chance of calm and relaxation on Monday and Tuesday.
