Croissant this morning. Woohoo!
Dhanurasana and Parsva Dhanurasana hurt the knees… the LCL and the IT bands, to be more specific. Is this normal?
Fifty percent effort in Bhekasana this morning. This now becomes the reality until the shoulder begins to heal.
Nitpicks: David focused on feet on Sunday. Lifting through the arches in Urdva Mukkha Svanasana, using Mula Bandha to find that lift. It’s strange, but the root bandha can be felt in the feet. Give it a go tomorrow. It’s a trip. Flat feet make this difficult, but apparently not impossible. Lifting through Uddiyana Bandha to bring the heels off the ground, then using the bandhas to bring the heels back down, rather than smashing the heels down using the flexibility of the hamstrings and the weight of the body alone.
Finding balance becomes easier with this new awareness. Pronation is no longer as problematic.
Tomorrow morning, practice with a new found friend. Remember that movie, Field of Dreams? “If you build it, they will come” and all that? Apparently it rings true, to some degree. As soon as the classes were offered, ashtangis began coming out of the woodworks. Three people have asked about Mysore classes… Maybe someday.
At this point in time, it looks as if there will be people to practice with almost every day. Three morning practices, two afternoon practices. Croissants Galore! It is so much easier to wake up at 5 when you have a friend counting on you. Reminders of that came this morning. After a week of practicing with Amy every morning, the room felt lonely and cold today.
