So I guess some folks are having difficulties posting comments on my blog. I’ve had trouble in the past as well… it comes up with some error message telling me I’ve posted too many comments or something like that. I usually hit the back button, and try again. Second time usually works…
I have no idea what’s going on, or how to fix it.
If there’s a comment you want to leave, and the comments function isn’t working for you, please feel free to email me: jennasuz (at) gmail (dot) com
Now that that’s out of the way….
We had a strange electrical storm last night that lasted for hours. We never get thunder and lightening here on the Central Coast, so it was a special treat. It was really amazing, but Kula thought we were all going to die so she kept us awake all night. I finally gave her a sedative around 1:30 a.m. but she didn’t relax enough for it to kick in until 3:30. When my alarm went off at 5 a.m., my exact words were, “Fuck no. Unh-uh.” I fumbled around to reset the second alarm for 7:30 and passed out again.
Damn. Two practices missed this week (but who’s counting? Oh yeah, I am).
Amy and I had a discussion over a few bowls of Tsurugi’s Udon noodles last night after yoga about (what else) the practice. We were talking about aches and pains… how one mild injury replaces another. My knees are slowly starting to feel better, and now my shoulders are killing me. The pain is very specific, a little more intense on my left side, and flares up mainly in Supta Kurmasana and Bhekasana. Amy mentioned that she had noticed my shoulder blades stick out of my back… that perhaps this flexibility is caused by a weakness somewhere that then puts strain on other muscles in my back/shoulders. I’m one of those people that can make their shoulder blades pop out at will like wings. Ew, right? Yeah. That used to be a popular playground move right up there with flipping my eyelids inside-out.
So then we moved on to what I could to to strengthen those muscles outside of my practice. Which made us laugh when Amy pointed out that it just seems silly to have to “train” for your yoga practice.
It’s Jody’s Birthday today. Go wish him a happy one!
