Can you tell I’m excited about the moonday?
To celebrate, yesterday I stopped by the Monterey Street Wine Shop and picked up a hunk of Spanish Manchego cheese (sheep’s milk) and Rinconada La Panza (local!) as well as a nice crisp Spanish Albarino. Then I went home and stuffed my face with expensive cheese and cheap wine. It was great.
It’s not that I’m exhausted (I am), it’s that I’m fighting this cold thing and I don’t want to get sick. So maybe a day off of practice will help.
That, and I left my manduka at the Centre the other day, and practicing with the paper-thin tapas on our berber carpeting is tough on the wrists.
Speaking of carpet, I came home yesterday and (surprise!) the carpets had been steam cleaned! So the new yoga room is clean and free of negative bad spirits (and spots) from the icky roommate. He’s gone, by the way (YAY!). Today I strolled out to the kitchen in my underwear to pour myself a cup of coffee. It felt more luxurious than if I had been wearing a silk kimono and Manolo Blahniks. Well, almost. That sounds pretty good too. Did I mention I love being in just my underwear before? It’s fabulous.
Tay got us baskets for our new cruisers, so I rode my bike up to my CSA drop point to pick up my veggies. 4 POUNDS OF TOMATOES. Crap. I still have about 2 pounds left from last week’s share, plus the 4 or so tomatoes I’m picking every day off my own plants… I’m literally drowning in tomatoes. I think it’s time to freeze some tomato sauce.
Or make some quick tomato juice:
1 Lb. juicy tomatoes,
1/2 cup ice
Squeeze of lemon
Sea Salt
Fresh ground pepper
Throw the tomatoes and the ice in a blender, puree. Pour the puree through a strainer, reserving the juice. Add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice, salt, and pepper to taste. Stir. Drink.Yum.
Especially good if you add some worcestire, tabasco, vodka, a green olive and a fresh celery stalk. But that’s called a Bloody Mary. 🙂
