So I have been practicing here and there. Meaning I practiced yesterday but did not today. I woke up with a head cold thingie and even though it’s gone now, I’m meeting a friend in a few short moments, so eh. Saturday practice will be fine.
I saw this poster on someone’s design blog somewhere at some point, and have been obsessed with it for a month or two now… I’ll come back to it and drool a little more a while later… and then I’ll forget about it for a while. I’m close to buying it now. Give me a few more visits, and then I’ll whip out the credit card.
I’m thinking it’d be perfect for my yoga room (in a different frame… as I’m not much for the gilded gold look). There’s another one that says “GIVE IT YOUR BEST” and I like that one, too… but not as much as the first one.
This is how I go about purchasing things. I find things that I absolutely love, and then I think about how much I want them and need them… and then I leave them. I think about them often, and I revisit them from time to time. If I have a shopping cart or basket, I might pick them up and put them in. Other wise I’ll hold them in my hands and walk around the store with them. And then eventually I’ll circle back around and put them back before leaving the store again. I’ll return again, somewhere down the road. If the item is still there, maybe I’ll just visit with it again for a while. Or maybe I’ll actually commit and lay down some cash. Such was the case today with this gorgeous silk graphic pillow that I’ve seen several times at my favorite Paso Robles store, Firefly. We’ve visited several times. Today I actually brought her home and proudly propped her up on the bed. She looks nice. But she could use a friend or two.
This entire process could take months for one decorative item.
So… it’s taken me about 3 months to buy a single pillow for the master bedroom. Just imagine how long it will take me to decorate the rest of the house.
Keep calm and carry on.
You should get a poster of a little kitten hanging on a branch or something with the caption “hang in there” In a big gaudy frame. =)
