I was reading Caca’s post which referenced Vipassana, and I was intrigued enough to read a little bit about it.
The rules and regulations all make sense, for an internal observation. Nothing seems unfair or unreasonable in the guidelines and prohibitions. But I was just trying to imagine going 10 days without any physical contact. None. I have a hard time wrapping my mind around that one.
I’m not an overly affectionate person… but I can’t recall a day passing without some form of physical contact, whether it be a handshake, a nudge of some sort, a friendly pat on the back. These are all small things we take for granted each day. I think I’ll make an effort to take notice of this contact. I’m sure it must effect our energy levels in very significant ways.
